Modern Wife Life

Last week on our drive from Seattle to San Diego we stopped over in San Francisco.  It was so fun to stop and walk around the downtown area by the Golden Gate Bridge.  Bentley loved it, too!

Now that he has mastered "sit" and "stay" out in public we will get more pics of him out and about.   I love taking him out to as many places as possible.   He has never been turned away from public places (so far).  I think his cuteness helps.

It's so rewarding to see the smiles he brings to people's faces as we're walking down the street.  Whenever we're walking around with him I like to watch people's eyes as they notice them.  It's like their eyes immediately soften and start to twinkle.  He can make the grumpiest of grumps warm up to him. Bentley is a little gift, that's for sure. 

Anyways, San Francisco was a really fun stop, and we cannot wait to go back to explore more of the city and surrounding coast.

Today we begin our road trip from Seattle to San Diego!  We spent the whole weekend cleaning, packing, doing laundry, washing the dog, and my personal favorite, taking things to Goodwill.  We even got a final trip on the ferry into Seattle to see our favorite spots one last time. This morning during the walkthrough of the condo the owner said it was "spotless" so that was rather satisfying. The truck is loaded up we are about to hit the road as soon as my boyfriend finishes some check out paperwork.  Here are some pics of our last moments in Seattle.

I am a mascara girl.  I love it.  I have long lashes already (thanks, mama), but they're not very dark, so mascara helps highlight what's already there.  

I've tried so many mascaras and CoverGirl LashBlast Volume works the best for me. (it comes in an orange tube). CoverGirl recently sent me their new LashBlast Plumpify blastPRO to try so I gave it a test.  See the before and after picture below.  

Overall, LashBlast Plumpify blastPRO wasn't as good as LashBlast Volume.  The LashBlast Plumpify blastPRO "double action brush" is spiraled, and it's not tapered at each end like LastBlast Volume.  The diameter of the brush is also quite large. As a result it's really easy to poke yourself in the eye.  And it makes it near impossible to coat your tiny inner and outer lashes.   

While the results look okay (see below), it wasn't a great experience.  I give the results a 4/5 star rating and the application experience a 1/5 star rating.   Also, I give the name a 0/5 stars.  "LashBlast Plumpify blastPRO".... it's quite a mouthful. 

Victoria's Secret was having their Semi-Annual sale here in Seattle this week and I was able to snatch up this adorable bikini.  I don't think it was meant to be a set, but I think the lavender bottoms go nicely with the printed top.  It was the last one they had.  The fit is perfect, and I got a great deal.  Originally it was $57 and I got both pieces for $17. Score!  I can't wait to wear this in San Diego.

I love goals, especially lists of goals.  They drive me.  I tend to obsess about them until I make them happen.  And every year I look forward to writing new goals as my New Year's resolutions.   It's a tradition. I try to cover all the nooks and crannies of life, from finances to health to career to family to romance.  I make some goals easily attainable and some goals more lofty, but I write every goal knowing that I will create a plan to make it happen.  One of my favorite quotes is, "A goal without a plan is just a wish."  That statement resonates so strongly for me.  Goals without plans behind them remain mere ideas.   I love the process of turning ideas into reality through detailed planning.  Anyways, here are my 2016 goals.
